The owner Jeff Hoffman has been in nondestructive testing (NDT) and inspection since 1987. Jeff is certified Level II thermographer from Infraspection Institute.
We provide thermography inspection for many disciplines including electrical systems, mechanical systems, moisture and air intrusion, block wall scans and moisture or leak detection in low slope commercial roofs.

In 1800 Sir William Herschel discovered infrared by studying sunlight as it passed through a prism. He noticed the different colors coming from the prism where different temperatures. He also noted the temperatures increase from the violet to the red part of the spectrum. He then decided to measure the temperature in the area beyond the red where no light was visible and discovered this area was the highest temperature. This invisible past the red part of the spectrum became known as infrared or beyond red.
All objects with a temperature above 0 Kelvin (absolute 0) emit radiation. The molecules that make up objects are always in motion. This is called kinetic energy. Temperature is the measure of this energy. Heat always move from the warmer area to the cooler area. This can occur in 3 ways, conduction, convection and radiation. Conduction occurs in solids, convection in liquids and gasses, and radiation needs no medium.
An infrared camera can detect this energy or radiation. Our cameras work in the Long Wave range (LWIR) 8-14 microns.Some material properties will affect the temperature readings. Emissivity and reflectance are the most common. Emissivity is the amount the amount of energy the material absorbs and radiates. Reflectance is the amount of infrared energy the object reflects.
